Cemetery Investigation

Today we went to the cemetery outside of the school, known as the Anglican Cemetery, which is located down Grace Road in the South of Tauranga, to examine some of the graves there and retrieve information about it. Our main objective was to discover what year the first grave was dug there, or what was the earliest year we could find and the latest grave.

After a few minutes of searching, me and my partner found the earliest we could find was made in 1843.

The latest was made last year, 2012. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to look at who was there, but we did find other information.

The youngest person who died was recorded as one day old whose name was Ronald Willcox and the oldest was around 97 years old as the oldest we could find.

My partner, Ellie, also found two of her relatives buried there, Elizabeth Faulkner, who died in 1911 and John Daniel Faulkner, who died in 1917. To put it short, she was pretty excited to see that they were there!
