Improve your study skills: Research Rimu

"Where do you find it?"

Rimu trees grow throughout New Zealand, in the North Island, South Island and Stewart Island. Most of the Rimu trees are found towards the West Coast, but the larger ones are found near Taupo, in rain forests and such.

"Why is it important to Māori?"

The Rimu plant is used for medical use, or medicines.

"What uses does it have?"

  • It can be used for medical uses/Medicines
  • It's wood can be used to make furniture or house construction.
  • Kakapo's (a rare bird in Stewart Island) feed on it
  • The inner bark can be used for burns or cuts
"Why is Rimu the best tree in the school?"

Maybe because it's one of the strongest and biggest tree in New Zealand.
